Tawilis Sardines in Corn Oil is a product of the Balete Family Farm School, Inc. It is a gourmet food product that can ONLY be made in the province of Batangas. The product comes in two flavors: Regular as well as Hot and Spicy.
The product can only be produced in Batangas because the main ingredient (TAWILIS) can only be found in Taal Lake. Moreover, it is unique since it is the ONLY FRESH WATER sardines in the Philippines. Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sardinella_tawilis) even went further. It noted that "it is the only member of the family Clupidea that is known to exist entirely in freshwater." The fresh water environment of the Tawilis makes it body softer and tastier than the normal sardinella fish taken from the sea.
